Well after the good run at the weekend, Gill and myself decided on a steady start to training this week! Slow and steady wins the race, as our friend lisa says frequently to us!!
We did some fast/slow training and drills in the local park on monday night, much to the amusement of the 13 year olds boys playing football near us, who i don't think could work out what we were doing!! But a nice easy start to the training week!
Last night we ran for an hour. Usually when i run after work i am tired and don't always feel to good, but i think i have now resolved that issue! I haven't been eatting enough, to my delight! I now make sure i have a sandwich etc at lunch rather than a salad, and drink as much water and lucozade drinks as i can during the day. This definatley paid off last night, i felt so much better and actually had some energy!! So I will try this again on thursday.
Rest and takeaway tonight!

Hi Kate,
Just read your last entry and I was so pleased to see that I'm not the only one that one day realised you need to eat more to keep up the training levels, and what a fantastic excuse for eating more! I was really struggling as the miles piled up for FLM training until one day some free stuff arrived through the post. I ate it on the way to my training run and then had all my usual stuff as well, result was a great run without the usual complete lack of energy at the end. With your runs going through the hour mark I would think you'll be burning in excess of 6-700 calories so you need to put that back in, either through energy drinks, food or both. Having said all that, the training that you have been doing without the extra calorie intake will stand you you in good stead for the last few miles when you have used up your energy stores and are starting to feel 'just a little tired'. Also worth taking a carb gel on your longer training runs, I take one every 4 miles but the timing is very personal, if nothing else it gives you something to look forward too!
Keep up the good work, I'm hoping to start training myself again this weekend.....hoping!!
Put the energy in, get the performance out!
Kev
