Well today was a suprise! Gill and myself headed off at 9.30am this morning for our long run, and to be honnest we weren't in the mood, and didn't really want to run! But our thought's returned to our charity, and we began! After half an hour of the run, we were both beginning to enjoy the run, and an hour in, we were both feeling comfortable. All the thoughts of our sore legs disappeared! We finished after an hour and a half, on a route of what we think is just over nine miles and 3 minutes quicker than last time, so it was a successful run after all !!
Time to relax now! Rest until monday night!!

Hi Kate,
Just had an e-mail from Kay at GSK appointing me as your 'mentor' for the GNR. Now I'm worried because having read your profile you seem to be doing really well already while I'm stuck with a dodgy back!I'm by no means an expert but I have run two London Marathons in the last three years and a fair few half marathons so I hope I can offer you some advice if you need any. I think the GNR is going to be a great day but I imagine it will be a little bit on the crowded side so not sure of the chances of a PB. Your target of 1:40 sounds very impressive, I hope you get near it or under. It seems like you've done plenty of training so on the day it'll just be a matter of convincing yourself mentally that you can do it. It's good to see that you seem to have a 'plan' to your training as just 'running lots' will get you round but specific strength/speed/hills etc really does work wonders. I knocked 25 minutes off my marathon time by following a plan with those elements.
Anyway, enough of my rambling, good luck with your training over the next few weeks, enjoy your rest days (they're my favourite days!!) and if I can help at all, let me know.
Train hard, race easy!
Kev
